Well, first time for the CQWW with the SO2R station fully operationnal (just
have to put a 2nd beam for 20/15/10). Everything worked out as planned ! Except
the propagation on 15 and 10m. 15m was very hard for a low power station almost
all the w.e but we had a good surprise sunday at the end of the afternoon with
good conditions on that band. 10m was closed. Excellent conditions on low bands.
FTDX5000MP @ 100W + IC-7600 @ 90W, MK2R+, 2x OM6BPF (band pass filter), single
laptop with additional screen 24’, N1MM+, MMTTY (2 RX windows by TRX with
different setup) + 2Tone, antennas : OB11-5 (3e/20 - 3e/15 - 5e/10) @ 16m,
DXBeam 2e 40m @ 19m, Inv. V 80m @ 15m + vertical HF9V.
I took a single break from 23.15 to 03.20z in the middle of the contest. I will
have stayed a little more in the night but it’s better to rest a minimun to be
on top untill the end.
I’m always surprised how it’s possible to quickly break pile up with 100w on
RTTY, the secret is surely to call at the right time (and not like everyone 😉)
but of course there are always some multipliers impossible to work with low
power (if you don’t want to loose to much time).
My goal was to reach 2060 QSO and 2,650 K points. Not too far for the QSO
number but it would have needed better conditions (at least on 10m) to do
better.
