Dear Members,
In our list of programmes for Software freedom day,we have Quiz
programme by 4:00 pm.(this programme, we can have it if time permits).
Can we have a quizzing software running on Linux with the following
features.(Taking time into account, members can comment on this,
either to have this module for the function or not).
You are requested to bottom post ,
1) Software should run on Linux with tamil interface.
2)The software be able to configure the number of teams per quiz.
3).The reward for the question should carry 'n' marks for a direct
question and n/2 or n-10 marks for a question carried ,on a round.
Facility should be enabled or disabled by a .conf configuration file.
Like MARKS_4_CARRIED_QUESTION= N/2 or N-10.
4)Facility like negative marks for an incorrect answer on a rapid
fire round . This feature should be configurable with a .conf file
like RAPIDFIRE_ROUND_NEGATIVE_MARKS=DISABLED / ENABLED either one of
them.
5) FOR BUZZER ROUND , we can intergrate www.lirc.com where we can
interface the serial ir receiver to the computer and separate remote
control of different make and model so that the single will not clash.
We can pick up the signal first registered in this regard.
6) THERE SHOULD BE AV-AUDIO VIDEO ROUND. the quizing module can have a
facility of putting up a jpeg image on the monitor/projector, be able
to play a audio/video clip.We can cut and play some part of the movie
like 'code'.
7) QUESTION BANK AND ANSWER BANK updates should be possible with the software.
Quiz should have Random picker facility, by this it should be possible
to pick questions across all the data stored as a part of different
quizes.(QUIZ cooked from many quizes whose data are stored earlier)
8) Score tally should be displayed at each round and end of the quiz.
( tonite i will google on this, looking for a module)
I am meeting the Exec Director of TNSTC -CHENNAI by tommorrow. I will
update reg with the permission for Linux Demo Day at the venue.
