[Ilugc] About Linux advocacy in colleges (failed in CEG)

Does anyone have ideas on making this possible?
One way we at Crescent Engg College managed to get
Linux PC's was to explain (force!) to them that a lot
of us were doing our projects in Linux and we needed
Linux boxes at College.
It worked! and not only the Comp Sc and IT Dept's but
even the ECE Dept had a few Linux-ready PC's, solely
for the purpose of students' projects.
Give it a try.
PS:We didnt even have Dual-boot on those Linux Boxes
citing the reason that some software doesnt work well
on a Dual-Boot machine.And those were the few "good"
ones in the labs.So for a year the staff was forced to
use OSS and none complained.
The above point may not be in the true FLOSS spirit
but no harm was done.
