Vivek, on behalf of Sarai, attended the UoM workshop on TRIPs Treaty
at Chennai. He gave a picture of the movement in Delhi. I also had the
opportunity to meet Ravikanth & Arthi from Sarai at the Trivandrum
FSFS meet. A lot of useful work is done by Sarai to promote serious
studies touching upon the social dimensions of free software.
<quote from

The free exchange of code, information and cultural products is
central to our conception of the digital public domain. In societies,
where hierarchy, inequality and control influence the production of
ideas, a free software culture is worth fighting for.

If you are a student, interested in researching say "Kiosks
vs. PDA's", probably Sarai is one of the best places in India for such
studies. (
