This is what i vaguely remember to be the steps I did to get it
working...Might miss one or two points..
(main source was http://psi-im.org/wiki/Jingle_branch ;)
1) Download the psi-jingle source from
http://biotech.iitm.ac.in/~bt04b015/psi-jingle.tar.bz2 =>taken from darcs on
Feb 26..Anyway, as far as i remember, development on this stopped after
december 2005...so taking afresh from darcs shouldnt make a difference)
2) Install the pre-requisites as mentioned on the wiki page... (
http://download.savannah.nongnu.org/releases/linphone/ortp/sources/ortp-0.7.1.tar.gz,
http://downloads.us.xiph.org/releases/speex/speex-1.1.11.1.tar.gz =>use only
these versions..later versions have come but dont use them)
3) do the normal 3 step install (configure, make, make install)...remember
to enable jingle during configure... ie., ./configure --enable-jingle...i
dont understand why its disabled by default :-/)
4) takes a terrible lot of time to compile...wait wait wait..drink 3 cups of
coffee maybe
5) once done (hopefully without any errors), run ldconfig as root to update
the ld cache (is that the right terminology?)
6) go ahead and run psi... type psi in console..it should work fine :)
setup your gtalk account as per
http://psi-im.org/wiki/Google_Talk_HowTo..once signed in, you should
see a voice call item in the right click menu
for any of your contacts..
