Putting code in public domain has legal issues in some areas like 
bringing in personal liability to developers concerned.

If your goal is to let anyone use it within no restrictions, it would be 
better to use a simple permissive license like MIT or BSD license instead.

        I have mentioned without any thought that It is 

        "Copyright Girish Venkatachalam 2006 2010" or something.

        What does that mean? What has copyright got to do with licensing?
