Hi LUGies,
For the past 10 days I am finding out an odd stuff with my boradband
connection at home. After a couple of hours of browsing, when I
eventually stop using the internet further by large amount, I see my
netwrok being used by some 40-60% continuously. Eevn when I am not using
Gaim, Firefox and Thunderbird, there is data transfer happening in my
connection. Am not using any other services which may automatically make
use of the connection. I tried even switching off the apt and yum from
the list of services.Even though my actual utilization is less than 15MB
per day, for the past 10 days I have been losing around 40-120 MB per
day. In this rate my limit of 1GB may get used up within 10 days :(
How to find which service is using my bandwidth ? any tools ? How to put
an end to this?
I use FC4 and have a BSNL Data one connection 500 Plan and a ADSL
Ethernet modem given by them. I don't automatically connect when the
system boots up, I manually if-up it.
