Hi All,could
I installed webmin 1.340 in my Ubuntu 9.10. After the installation i
access the webmin from localhost as well as network . But afterinstalling a
firewall "guarddog ". i could not access my webmin from outside but ican
access it from localhost. So i just uninstalled the firewall , butstill
couldnt access remotely.
Have you uninstall-ed *all* the files of the package?
The firewall may have left residual scripts that are still active and
blocking incoming connections on your WAN port; which is a good
default setting IMO.
FYI i installed Apache2.2 in my pc and this can be accessed fromoutside.
Please help me to solve the issue.
nmap your WAN IP, from a ssh account outside of your network to list
your open ports.
Operating system Ubuntu Linux 9.10
Webmin version 1.340
With version 1.340 your host may be vulnerable
(http://www.webmin.com/security.html).
I am sure Ubuntu has a later version of webmin, if not then grab the
latest deb package (1.5.2 as of 13/sep/10) from Webmin's home site.
Thank you very much. Once i rectified i will move to latest one.
