while starting up MTA service, it just halts.
what i found was when i insert the cd it loads EXIM4 and proceeds.
i started up few times this way, but now its starting without the CD.
Since you are using a standalone desktop system, i dont think you will
need exim. But i dont there was any problem. I have seen exim take a
long time to load. Probably you can install rcconf and remove exim4
from the startup list.
