Yes, but the actual resolution of most projectors is no more than
XGA (1024x768). This is not as good as many high-end notebooks
with SXGA (1440 x 1080) or higher resolutions.
There are high-end projectors for digital cinema applications that
have resolutions as high as 3072 X 2048 (or even higher), but these
are very expensive - not less than $250k or Rs. 1 crore / unit.
[2] If any of you are hardware engineers,
please think of mnf. web cam sized projectors, that could render a
decent 4' x 2' screen, that may be cheap, affordable, and may be even
bring the price of computers to less than Rs. 5000/-
Small projectors do exist, but they aren't that inexpensive - the least
expensive DLP projectors are ~Rs.50k today, which is a fraction of the
price at which DLP was originally introduced ~20 years ago. Acer has
such a low-end DLP projector available in India now.
