[Ilugc] Error in Mysql installation in Slackware

If i run mysql_install_db, it throws following error:
mysql@saasqa-arch-t03a:~$ mysql_install_db
Didn't find /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld
You should do a 'make install' before executing this script
seems you have compiled from source.
try giving make install.
