Hi all,
A lot of FOSS projects had made their proposals for participating in
Project Day at foss.in 2007 and the results are out for the selected
projects. This time, Debian-In and Ubuntu-In are joining hands for a
combined Debian/Ubuntu Project Day :)
The Project Day need to be and we plan it to be for aspiring
contributors to the projects, i.e. it should be aimed as a starting
point for users to get motivated to start contributing to their
favorite project, contribution not just as in code but in every way
possible.
- From Ubuntu-In side, we are planning to get Jono Bacon and Daniel
Holbach to speak on this occassion. We have got a positive response
from Ubuntu/Canonical about helping us in making Debian/Ubuntu Project
Day a grand success.
We also welcome ideas for the Project Day from the community, so as to
make this endeavor really useful and achieve the aim of getting more
(few more rather) to contribute.

All: Here are the selected Project Days sessions, in alphabetical order:
* Debian/Ubuntu
* Fedora
* Gnome
* IndLinux
* KDE
* Mozilla
* OpenOffice.org
* OpenSolaris
These eight Project Days sessions will be part of the CfP that will be
published next week, and people will be able to submit talk proposals
for each of them (and the Main conference, of course). Congrats to the
eight projects, and my sympathies as well - having been selected, you
now carry the burden of ensuring that you produce many Indian
contributors. That means that your sessions have to be structured in
such a way that it is easy for people to get in at the ground floor
and the take the elevator up :)
That completes phase 1 of the process - next is the Call for
Participation, that will go out next week, after Team FOSS.IN meets
