Hey friends and folks,
About a month back, Suriyadeepan from Pondicherry of FSHM, and myself
(Ganesh) from Vellore,was brewing up with ideas for Community based
Wireless - Mesh networking strategies. We both are INDEPENDENTLY
researching about it for some time.... :)
One of the perception which we were deliberating for months have made
us decide to publish our idea and concept that we have curated that
integrates, GIS, Open Data, Wireless Mesh Networking adhering Free &
Open Source philosophy and development strategy. We have not only found
that such a requirement is not only sparse in a socio-technological
world but also a definite requirement for a more liberated and self
regulated grass-roots (commons based) communications.
Suriyadeepan, found that FOSS4G is about to be held - i believe most of
us already aware of that... :). So we both made a simple abstract which
suriya has worked out on the idea and submitted it to the FOSS4G
abstract submission process. After some weeks, the abstract was
accepted.
Happy ;)
But the registration fee seems to be high enough for both of us to
afford. please do visit : http://www.foss4g-asia.org/2017/registration-
info/. It seems the cumulative cost is 10,000/- when registered before
30th of november 2016.
With hesitation i am writing this mail to ask of any help that the
community can offer/provide us (financially for now....) - not only to
help deliver the idea to a wide audience but also as a sign to initiate
the project with more inertia of contribution.
I do not know whether it is the right way to ask for help !. But if it
is not a proper channel/way, do say so, and let us inform the proper
ways to do.... :)
