Linux Desktop Conference 2004, organised by gnomebangalore
(http://www.gnomebangalore.org) is being held on September 25th at the
PESIT Auditorium, Bangalore.
The focus of the meet would be on Development for the Linux Desktop.
It will also establish a general direction to the growth of Open
Source development in India, pertaining to the Linux Desktop.
The meet features talks from eminent Open Source pioneers and
developers including Nat Friedman (http://www.nat.org/). These talks
would be a window to the Open Source movement in general and Linux
Desktop Development specifically.
The conference aims to provide a singular platform for the pioneers,
the contributors and the wannabees of the Open Source movement.
The key highlights of the meet will be:
1. Product development, the Open Source way.
2. Exploring the development frameworks and tools for the Linux
Desktop.
3. Peek into a few of the widely used desktop applications.
4. Interaction with the GNOME community.
There is an registration fee for all the participants which will be
Rs.200 for professionals and Rs.100 for the students. The fee will be
used to provide participant kit (T-Shirt, notepad,etc) and food.
