We are happy to announce the following event, that is to take place on
the 17th of January, in Kongu Engineering College.
Seminar on GNU/Linux
Agenda - The seminar will concentrate on career issues, driver
programming, Linux installation. We also plan to screen The Code.
We would like to thank
Mr. Shakthi Kannan
for accepting our request to be the guest for the day and also take the
seminars.
There were also other volunteers who were willing to come. But due to
other problems like conflicting dates, they were unable to make it for
this event. I'm sure they will be willing to come down here and share
their experience some other time when they are available.

mine was 10k cheaper - same configuration

yeah these are out of the box (except that slak doesnt ship with ipw
drivers - these are slated to get integrated into the main kernel very
soon ...)

distros use modules as they need to cater a wide range of hardware -
it just isn't possible to compile in everything...for a custom
installation though, I guess compiling in things is better - faster,
saves some space required for the module as well (that's a microscopic
amt though...) - come on, there is no point in having a reiserfs
module with reiserfs on your hard disk. it is anyway needed right from
bootup to shutdown - I generally have modules for those which I may
not use that frequently, or for those which I may not need now, but
may require it some time in the future - in fact, even for the second
case, it isn't that difficult to do a recompile anyway...
it moves on...
