[Ilugc] Good news and bad news

the bad news is i won't
b able to bring my pc as promised owing to transport costs :-( .
Hope the need for PCs is gonna be high as transportation of our own
PCs is problem for most of us. Needs to be taken care of
3. College students prefer the more raw distros ,like slackware or
gentoo, Anjuta, Eclipse, Kdevelop, Mono are perfect and I guess Parth
and Prashanth are incharge of those stuff. So this shouldn't be a
problem at all.
One thing needs clarification again ! What kinda visitors are going to
dominate the crowd --> School Kids ? College students ? Elder ppl who
want to know abt linux ? This also depends on how far the veent gets
publicized by Birtla Planatorium and how many are really interested to
turn up there ?
As from what Thyagu told, if its going to be school children, then
having too hi-fy stuffs wuld be a bad idea... Suraj Kumar suggested me
to put up "Kturtle" for school kids... So we need a better idea over
the type of audience before we can decide over what to show ?!
4. Now there is a separate category that falls in between a newbie and
an expert. they are terrified of command line interfaces (thats bad) and
prefer the gui for everything. Now I have repeated this several times,
but webmin is just a thing they need.
Showing just GUI wont be a real part of showing linux, atleast for the
grownups. Linux becomes unique over it power in using the command
line, not many us of windows users know making proper use of DOS
mode. Atleast for some beginners to linux we gotta shpw some
programming stuff... atleast hav them in hand for necessity!
