I don't see how it limits platform. They are servers after all and are
supposed to run in data centers. I see so many distros (if not done
already) coming up with ARM builds. Ubuntu is one. With this level of
cost savings, and savings in other aspects, all cloud players are
going to be interested. BTW what do you mean by general purpose
computing?

everyone. In fact, we believe it will only be a fit for a relatively
small number of applications, but these applications are the ones that
run at hyperscale. "
It looks like, it is meant for running highly parallel applications. The
more I read about it, the more I see it as also competing with Nvidia
Tesla or AMD Firestream which have very high power consumption.
By general-purpose computing, I meant something like running adhoc
applications on the CPU. Moonshot is meant only to run certain types of
applications.
