Folks,
The Linksys WRT54G Wireless B/G WiFi/Broadband Router/AP is
available locally at Ritchie Street for ~Rs.4k (YMMV, shop around).
This is a fairly decent price for the earliest/best such product in the
market.
The main advantage is that it uses an embedded Linux distro based
on busybox, uclibc, etc., and a fully open-source alternative called
OpenWRT can be flashed on it to improve its features, including
adding support for community mesh networking, etc.
Do a Google search for 'WRT54G Linux' to understand its features.
