I had similar issue with Ubuntu & window 7.Without plunging in usb
drive, System not booting up to select the option.
using live window 7 dvd, i repaired the window os, it fixed the MBR.
After running the window i installed EasyBCD in window.
Then i used EasyBCD software to set a back up of booting loader.
using virtual cd drive i mount the iso image of Ubuntu in window os
.As it got the installer exe file option to run window itself to set
the installation.
After that it was working fine.when ever i want remove the linux boot
option i use easy EasyBCD software to restore the boot loader.
You can try EasyBCD software to fix the boot loader option.
if you haven't tried Universal USB Installer (
http://www.pendrivelinux.com) software it very good tool for usb
installation work.

He needs a dual-boot. First preference is to recover installed Windows
and Mint 15. Does not mind wiping everything off the hard disk.
I did google for hours but all this MBR, GPT, ESP, etc just go over my
head. I am no developer just an average desktop user.
P.S. If it is not too much to ask for, we stay at Nanganallur and
would appreciate any volunteers to help in installation at my friend's
place. I know we had a installation fest hence taking the liberty for
requesting for physical presence. (Even I have registered as volunteer
but have no experience in UEFI). Please mail me if you wish to help.
