1. How to mount FAT
[root@localhost root]# fdisk -l
Disk /dev/hda: 20.5 GB, 20547841536 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 2498 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 1216 9767488+ c Win95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/hda2 1217 1868 5237190 a5 FreeBSD
/dev/hda3 * 1869 2378 4096575 83 Linux
/dev/hda4 2379 2498 963900 f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5 2379 2498 963868+ 82 Linux swap
my system is having Win95 FAT32 partition in /dev/hda1
to mount this,
[root@localhost root]# mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/win95/
please note that your kernel should be compiled with the corresponding file
system enabled, otherwise it will throw an error.
2. if you lost your root password, there are several ways to handle this
problem
when the linux is booting type "linux single" or "linux 1", it will boot the
system in single user mode, without asking any password.
in the shell, type passwd command to change the passwd
