I like this simple, open hearted interview from Linus. You can notice
one thing. Most of the successfull corporate heads, use to say that
they had a vision, they planned such a way to accomplish, it is all
because of their effort to reach the current position.......... they
will try to show that they had enough intelligence to come to this
position, they had cleverly planned for this success...... But I don't
think that it is so, in many cases. Linus's following answer seems to
be more practical on this.
KLS: Is there anything else you want to accomplish going forward?
LT: No, but on the other hand I am not the kind of person that really
plans ahead a lot. When I started Linux it wasn't because I wanted to
be where I am today. I am more of an "everyday as it comes" type of
person. I am very happy that I feel like I do something meaningful,
that has made a difference, that actually a lot of people use. But at
the same time I don't have and I never have had any big visionary
goals.
btw: Anybody has read "An accidental revolution - biography of Linux
Torvalds" - it is very interesting bood to read.
