Good question - I'm not exactly sure how it works, but there is an
priority boost for all processes that get input from
HID devices and output to the screen.
Reminds me of the SunOS days when you could make your program run faster
by performing useless IO - randomly typing keys on the keyboard while its
running, or by calling printfs periodically inside cpu bound code.
