What tweaks? For me it was almost all out of the box except that my
initrd for an old kernel got broken, had to boot in with a rescue cd and
install a regular kubuntu 2.6.17 kernel image deb.
Kubuntu edgy when boots, fsck has problem with my fat file systems &
stops booting. Even Ctr-c & Ctrl-D does not help. I had to edit from
mandriva2007 /etc/fstab of kubuntu & change last digits to 0 0
instead of 0 1 so that fsck skips fat partitions.
Second is installing Ati Radeon X 200 driver,
Third there is no mplayer for kubuntu edgy in repository even after
enabling universe & mutiverse to play my tv. I had to compile after
downloading mplayer.hq although there several ubuntu forums how to
compile. Plf has stopped support for ubuntu. See plf.zarb.org
Mandriva 2007 did not require all these.
