Hi,
Check Pidgin Messenger... There is Bonjour account in the account
option. There is a windows version of Pidgin. But I don't know whether
it has the Bonjour plugin or not.
Kopete Messenger is also having the Bonjour Account. And it can work in
both Kubuntu(also in Ubuntu) and Windows.
Try different Messengers having the Bonjour Service Option.
Or try installing Jabber Server *jabber*d.org and configure Pidgin to
work with that.
And there is also ipmsg for Gnu/Linux available I think.
