yestarday itself i saw three such LCD pieces in the ELEKTOR
shop. but the shopkeeper had gone for lunch, leaving a lady

wrapped LCDs. i didn't visit back though. i am also not
sure whether those were HD44780 compatible or not.=20

yeah lcdproc would show the system health status. also have=20
