I am not sure, but you might be better off using a higher level graphics sub
system (read with X) because you want to show live video. To show high frame
rates you might have to depend on low level hardware ops which would have
already been implemented for you if you chose a higher level graphics
platform. Of course this luxury might not be there for you since you are
talking about an embedded system.
