Dear LUGs,
I tried 1GB Scandisk cruzer pen Drive for Linux booting drive.
I tried various distros,
1. Puppy Linux 3.0
It is easy to use. Puppy universal Installer makes easy to
configure USB as boot drive. Tinny space occupation (90MB). It can
make USB as bootable without MBR. It will work on all SATA, PATA HHD
contained PCs. It is required minimum 256 MB USB.
2. Slax (200 MB)
It is an wonderful and small Linux for USB. But creation of
USB work on the same pc or same type of PCs. If creation PC contains
single HHD, then you use in PC having 2 HHD booting problem caused. It
is required minimum 256 MB USB. feather Linux and RUNT website are not
available but many websites shows its installation guidelines.
3. Pendrive Linux (400MB)
It is an excellent debian flavour linux and easy to create USB
drive on both Linux and Windows. But same problem as in slax using.It
is required 512 MB USB but 1GB is better.
4. Ubuntu Linux
It is an standard CD.ISO image used to create USB boot drive.
But it required minimum 1GB USB pendrive but 2GB is best.
Just i tried. If any other distros tried by anybody please
post your experience.
I also required an a guide to manual pendrive Linux creation tutorial
from ISO files. or any other tutorial to create LInux OS boot device
by using kernel, individual packages.
