[Ilugc] Microsoft's FAT patent overturned

On the other hand, Microsoft has won patents for double-clicking using
the mouse, and also for the application of the mouse scroll wheel -
There's too much prior art for double-clicking. As far as the scroll wheel
goes, they're welcome to their patent - I've never used the scroll wheel
on any mouse.
OTOH, the FAT patent had a lot of potential to be disruptive, because it
would have given them a stranglehold on connecting Digicams and mp3 players
to any PC, as well as on USB flash drives of any kind. That's all history
now.
