National Informatics Centre (NIC) has chosen and deployed the open
source Eucalyptus Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) software in the
e-governance cloud project in India. With this, NIC aims to deliver the
power of modern information technology (IT) to remote districts and
villages throughout the country.
Eucalyptus software will be deployed
as the foundation for e-Governance cloud project in India. NIC is
providing the network backbone and a wide range of ICT (information and
communication technologies) services to government organisations
throughout India, including a nationwide communication network for
decentralised planning, improvement in government services and wider
transparency of national and local government institutions.
