Ok, I have now dropped the option of Tata Indicom's internet at Rs.
1500. Including the rent, one should pay about Rs. 2000 per month, a
bit costlier. Also the speed can't be ensured.
So I decided to check out VSNL's 512 kbps. I am planning to go with
the 500 MB limit option. I hope that would be enough for me including
weekly (selective) sid upgrades.
They use Aztech USB modem, but I just want to know whether anyone
using this service is able configure this modem in Linux. I saw this
modem listed in eciadsl, but wonder how practically it works. Yet to
call their customer care center.
