Greetings
[snip]
I have done IS audit of couple of co-operative banks.
Even the mention of Linux scares them for some of the core banking
applications run only on windows.
Before migrating to even a newer windows version, the vendosr has to
do a hell of a lot of testing.

But not all will bite the bullet.
Is there some kind of insurance against losses that incur from new
technology adoption? Does that cover linux?
Turning the question around - are the banks insured against losses arising
from bugs/malfunction of their software? Or is it a risk vs reward balance
for them in adopting new technology?
