I have been using a UNI-T multimeter (which shows a model no. of
DT830B) and has hold good for all my hobby needs. You can even
test a transistors and diodes on it. These models are in abundance
in Ritchie St. and would be the default one you would be presented
with. They are a good student companion. Google will give you the
images.
Bought from Ritchie St. for I believe Rs. 180 3 years ago. Better
models exist and are costlier.
