[Ilugc] [Opinion needed] Fast, stable and no-animation distro

I have heard that archlinux is fast and simple but unstable, any
comments on that?
(or may be on BSD based distros?)
I m not much familiar with lot of distro, but when it comes about stability
and speed, I prefer Debian...since, it very stable and it also boot
fast....while installing Debian, install it through command line and don't
select any X-window systems components...
Also the the best features in Debian is that, it has a very big repository
which contains more than 20 K packages
