Howdy everyone,
The Microsoft Corporation is pushing computer makers to implement a
feature called "Secure Boot" in order to get that "Windows 8 compatible"
label on their machines. The FSF has shown concerns over this
development as they are apprehensive that this feature might make it
hard for users to install other operating systems like GNU+Linux.
What now ?. Well, the FSF is sending a statement (a petition) to the
computer manufacturers asking them to carefully implement this Secure
Boot feature ( FSF is labeling this feature as "Restricted Boot") so
such that it will be completely possible to install & use operating
systems like GNU+Linux on these new machines.
