I discussed with Raman and Ramanraj regarding Press Reporter's awareness
program, before we inviting press people, we should arrange FSF, Open Sou=
rce Intro session to press people. I hope this will be useful for effective=
media coverage. Please share your ideas.=20

thats a nice suggestion;
we should bear in mind the date of function is 10 sep;the press are an awfu=
lly busy lot;unless we have "reportable"news(front page kind of a thing)we =
cant hold their attention for long periods of time;based on my experience w=
ith media interaction i would suggest if you could add a separate write up =
to be enclosed about the topics u suggested above--ie., whatever you consid=
er appropriate to say in the "Open Source Intro session to press people". w=
e WILL include that in the write up to be distributed.can be any length/pag=
es too!
2.My own suggestion is to implement the above in a well planned and execute=
d CD/dvd to distribute to many press / cameras (definitely PTI/UNI/REUTERS)=
;(idea 1:capture the opinion of many open source users on your webcam and p=
ost it here for consolidation)- pre press inviting;
3.there are a number of sites which host daily news .can some ilugc member =
volunteer to take up the job of mailing them all(the respective admins of t=
hose sites) to carry our news of SFD/LDD boldly? later u shd post the addre=
sses of these on the ilugc mailing list for shakti to update on the wiki pa=
ge mailing list-we have a good list of edu institutions=20
4.there is no press meet;only a press note for favour of publication, now. =
on the LDD, in order to have a consistent opinion( only one version - viz t=
hat is from all of us at ilugc) dished out to the press, thyagu's name is p=
roposed to interact with press reporters who come for covering the event.
