I've installed Dapper Drake in one of the comps at my college lab. To use
the net, we need to use a HTTP proxy.
we're given an IP address (192.168.100.1) and a port number (3128). I've
configured Ubuntu with these proxy settings, also I've configured Firefox.
All connections to the net works (including updates, Automatix etc).
But if I give the same config for Gaim it gives the following error:
Access denied: proxy forbids port 5050 tunneling.
I've also given my IP address in the config.
However, if I ask Gaim to "use environmental settings" for proxy, and try to
connect, I get:
Unable to connect.
Please help me.
