The following is my comp's configuration:
AMD Athlon 3000+ 64-bit processor,
ASUS A8V MX motherboard
80 GB SATA HDD (Seagate)
I recently dowloaded and burnt 5 CDs of Novell's Suse 10.1. I read some good
reviews about it, so thought I'll give it a try. However, during
installation it failed to detect my hard disks. It said 'No hard disks
present'. I tried the CDs a day before at one of college systems (I don't
know the conf but its some Intel mobo and a (P)ATA HDD) and it worked there.
The next time I tried installing on my comp, I went to a root prompt
(ctrl+alt+f2) and typed: modprobe sata_sil
I got no mesages or anything. Just the prompt. Afterwards, I did ctrl+alt
f7, and still the hdd is not detected. Please help me
It is mentioned in a readme file that the kernel version is 2.6.16.

By the way, I updated my BIOS so now my Kubuntu 6.06 is working perfectly,
even the USB drives and my net connection.
