After trying over phone for more than 20 days with customer support
today one person came and solved the problem. The sim card was
inserted in the wrong direction!. (I also did not bother to check that
:-( He put it back properly and everything is fine.
For the record, here is the procedure to connect this modem to
internet (Open Suse 10.2)
1. Insert the Modem in USB port (USB drive is loaded and modem is recognized)
2. run wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf to create the configuration script.
3. Edit the script to :
[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
Baud = 460800
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Init3 = AT+CRM=1
ISDN = 0
Modem Type = Analog Modem
Phone = #777
Username = internet
Password = internet
stupid mode =1
4. type wvdial
and start browsing. The speed is pretty good.
