[Ilugc] Suggestions on Memory upgradation

I have observed this problem with big computer manufacturers.
Now that HP,Compaq and DEC are all one, I think my case should help.
I was asked to bring my Compaq Presario desktop to the service office in
Chennai and I carried it there with much difficulty. I told them specifically
what the problem was. (The problem was not easily reproducible)
I was asked to come and collect the machine after a couple of days saying that
everything is fine and they did not charge anything.
Later it was only thro' "untrusted" unofficial service engineers that I got my
problem solved.
I am not sure how this case relates to yours but 3.2k for 256 MB RAM definitely
sounds fishy.
The lesson I learnt is that we should get a reliable and trustworthy service
engineer instead of relying on these big companies.
I think they just don't care about you.
This is my experience alone. And a viewpoint.
Others should have something different of course.
