Dear all,
i just typed cat ss.txt in ubuntu terminal. but it displays broken charecter
of tamil text . how to fix this problem i cant find any tamil encoding in
terminal charecter encoding settings.
Use GNU/Emacs . In emacs there is command to open a shell . Once
inside the shell ( the shell is running inside emacs) all indic
scripts come out fine .
Some emacs tips at

Broken rendering is due to the way the engine draws characters . The
gnome-terminal and konsole unfortunately couldn't display complex
indic characters .
