Thanks for your suggestions ( Sanjay's doc definitely helped me )
Over the weekend i was able to install 4 Oses in my hard disk
( Windows XP, FreeBSD 5.2.1, Fedora core -2 and Xandros )
However there is one issue that freebsd does not boot.
I'll describe the steps i followed.
(i) Resized Windows XP to use 10 GB using Xandros OS. ( i.e In the process of
installation, there is a step that Xandros will ask us to resize, once this is
over i press cancel. So my aim is achieved )
(ii)10GB winXP, 30 GB free
Installed freebsd 5.2.1 successfully by creating a slice of 8GB ( /usr /var
everything )
Able to dual boot with WinXP and Freebsd successfully F2 keys )
(iii) Installed FC-2 for another using another 10GB.
Here comes the trouble. GRUB recognised only windows partitition and did not
recognise freebsd.
So freebsd is lost at this step. I followed the winXP+freebsd+linux howto and
modified the grub.conf.
Still the same result.
So i just restored grub to the original.
(iv) Installed Xantros and the boot loader of xantros also could not recongnise
freebsd.
It successfully recognised WinXP, Fedora.
I'am pasting the current lilo.conf and fdisk from xandros which is the
bootloader now.
My machine ( laptop ) has only one harddisk (40GB ) and freebsd was installed
in /dev/hda2.

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 4864.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
and could in certain setups cause problems with:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
(e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)
