Dear Friends,
I installed FreeBSD 5.2.1 from this month CHIP DVD. It comes with XFree86
4.3.0. The problem is in starting the X server... I have tried the following.
With vesa driver:
* No suitable modes found
With vga driver:
* When the ColorDepth is <= 4. The Xserver starts without problem
* When =8 Starts without problem but the desktop area is very small to work.
I tried all possible configurations for the Color depth and the Modes in the
configuraion file.
I used the configuration file of the Knoppix XFree86 config file (with
necessary changes) but no use.

Ther's no issue starting X with my hd-knoppix installation on that machine.

Please help me resolve this issue..

vesa driver correctly identifies the chip...
