Does this help?

Wish it did. I do not seem to have permissions on std dev entry. But I
reckon distros come with proper permissions thus msg may mean something
else.

Newer docs do not talk of pin_helpers (declared in hcid.conf). I found a
place where a guy had installed his own script to echo "PIN:abcd" for
giving a fixed PIN. Did that too. No avail.
Newest kmobiletools 0.5 does a search thro' all rfcomms for a DUN
connection. My phone does pop up a screen that vanishes immediately.
Wonder if these guys tweaked firmware to respond to MPT only. Can never say.
