ffmpeg is simply the best command-line tool for any kind of
video-conversion. But, i prefer using "ffmpeg" using the Front-end GUI
"winff".
sudo apt-get install winff
Once done, just open-up the UI -> Set output format, folder
-> Choose input file(s)
for batch processing
-> You may override the
default bit-rate by specifying the values OR you can edit the existing
preset output formats.
-> Typically, a bit-rate
of 6000kbps should be sufficient enough for a HD video.
