Microsoft products are dominant in the industry. When you try to
advocate someone to switch to the open source alternative, you should
give them an option to "Switch Back", in case they found out that
something did not work as they expect.

If someone wants help with switching from MySQL to MS SQL and he gets
it from Open Source mailing list, he will be more inclined to
recommend/use open source software in future ('One can try and if it
does not work out, can always go back').
Yes, no one is obliged to help. But it is good for the open source
software community if someone gets this kind of help also.
