Ops, getting to {OT} ... :-)

Anyway, to clarify the importance of "information searching skill" for 
an analyst:

1. "Information search" adds values to the analysis work,
2. "Reinventing the wheel" is not desired, we better know what exist & 
available and what NOT!!
3. Nevertheless, knowing "competitor's" solution/technology helps to get 
extra edge,

how this relates to technology solution analyst?

It just helps to find out required input [information] for "Decision 
Analysis Report" and "Feasibility study". It is only one part in 
analysis, other obvious part must be the hands-on lab work with domain 
knowledge.
