This is the way I have setup dual booting and I am
using this for the past 2 years without any problems.
1. Install Windows XP
2. Install Fedora.In the bootloader configuration
install the grub bootloader on the dedicated /boot
partition or the single / partition as per your setup
preference in disk setup[dont install it in
/dev/hda[mbr]]
3. Extract XOSL [free] in c:
4. Read the XOSL manual that comes along witrh it to
get more idea.
5.boot using windows boot floppy
6.Install XOSL
Adv:
1.You may uninstall XOSL any time restoring to
previous setup and also if you change your mindset to
install grub on /dev/hda you may install grub later.
Moreover there is no fear in dualbooting any linux
with WinXp/2000 because, if any problem occurs you may
use fixmbr and bootcfg to rectify windows booting
corruption.
And in in a similar way you may restore your grub by
booting with fedora rescue CD. and do chroot and
grub-install.
Trust me because I have triple booted winXP,slackware
and Fedora core 1 without any problems in my 20 GB
hdd.
You may also use some utilities to backup your boot
records and restore them when they get corrupted.
