I have migrated from windows to linux mint recently.
In windows if a new software is required software can be downloaded
from the website
and stored in afolder and can be installed on requirement.
Whether the same way softwares for linux can be downloaded. All sites
are asking which linux you are using
Any portable application is there as in the case of windows?
By googling i am not able to get .
Any help is highly appreciated.
