Then you have lilo installed.

cp your /etc/lilo.conf.anaconda to /etc/lilo.conf make appropriate
changes in that file to point the image to your new kernel, then
re-run lilo -v.

Regards,
arv

Naveen S <naveenmailid@xxxxxxxxx> writes:

output of lilo is

[root@localhost temp]# lilo
/etc/lilo.conf: No such file or directory

what to do

The kernel doesnt use the boot loader.

You can use any boot loader for the purpose of
booting your new kernel.

type `lilo` as root and if you see that the command
is preent the you
can rename the /etc/lilo.conf.anaconda to lilo.conf
in the same
directory and type lilo -v to see if the changes
have taken place.

thanks
