Did you get a VFS mount error or a Kernel panic
(the interrupt OOPS).Fill in your screen dump. Well i got mine working
with a nonintrd (with grub on a RH FC2 Distro) on a Via Epia M board,
Well my .config would be for a 2.6.7 kernel with a epia patch , will
try a 2.6.8 soon on i386,

I got a kernel panic while trying to boot the new 2.6 kernel.
Thought of usual things and did a mkinitrd and later compiled ext3
support into the kernel. But nothing seems to solve the problem.
But what is more confusing is this :along with the error message, I
was suggested to look into the 'root=' option in lilo.conf.
my lilo.conf:

When I looked into this I was surprised!!! Because here is my fstab

where hda2 is mounted as root. But in my lilo.conf it is different.
When I changed it to hda2 in lilo.conf, I got kernel panic for both
the kernels.
Am I missing something here???

I suggest using a wiki [1] in place of our existing website. The advatages -
1. No need to worry about administration
2. Anyone (at-least can restrict to ilugcians) can edit it
3. Anyone can put content into it.
4. Imagine the 'CDs for sale' page keep growing as users keep adding
the info. about the CDs they have
5. No centralized adminstration. A set of people can become the SysOp
and monitor the changes
6. Just use the RSS of 'Recent Changes' for monitoring changes, you
(admin) don't need to visit the 'Recent changes' page daily to find
culprits.
I guess it make sense for us to use the wiki. We don't need to ask
the list 'whether anyone is taking over the job of maintaining
website'. The point is everyone maintains the website (in their free
time) and the wiki helps them to do so, without much frills.
Please give me access to www.chennailug.org server, I will
install/configure mediawiki and let you all know.

articles, FAQs and virtually any kind of document in it

he's talking about their usb modem product and that has no official
linux support .. however several of the modems that local isps provide
do have third party drivers available, for which you just have to check
the list archives or google for it .. i wont bother with posting the
